How do I get rid of rust, bird poop and other stains on my interlock?
You wet your interlock.
You pour some powerful cleaner on your interlock (but be careful to follow the package instructions because sometimes you have to wet the interlock or dilute the cleaner first). Efflorescence cleaner works well, but you should be careful, because it is very powerful.
You can find special bird poo and stain cleaners at a “real” interlock supply yard. Not home depot.
If your stain is grease or rust, you can buy specific cleaners for those problems. Efflorescence cleaner is usable in many cases though.
You scrub and scrub and scrub!
Use a long handled scrub brush. A normal hand held one is very exhausting to use.
Rinse the interlock off (making sure you follow the instructions).
That is it!
Here is a pro tip: if you seal the interlock, the lacquer provides a layer of protection for the interlock. The stains easily slip off the lacquer. It is much easier to clean.
It is easy to clean and easy to prevent stains from sticking around too long.
Tada!
