What is efflorescence on my interlock?

Efflorescence is a fancy name for the unsightly white stuff that you see on bricks and interlock blocks.

It is actually calcites in the stone mixing with water, rising to the surface of the block, and then oozing out the top and drying on the face of the block.

It is annoying, but it isn’t too hard to get rid of.

This article isn’t very useful.

But it is useful if you see white stuff on your brick siding or interlock. Then you say “Aha! That is efflorescence”, and your neighbors are impressed because you know big words.

If you read the other articles on avoiding and dealing with efflorescence, then your neighbors will think you are even smarter.
