What is sealing interlock?

Sealing interlock: applying a lacquer to interlock that makes the interlock blocks look better and last longer.

Some more facts about interlock sealer.

It is a type of varnish/paint/sealer that seals the concrete blocks and the sand in the joints of the concrete blocks.

It is applied like paint.

It creates a barrier between the interlock and the great outdoors that makes the interlock last longer as well as making it easier to clean.

Another benefit of sealant is that it makes the interlock look better. It can create a permanent “wet look” on your patio of walkway. You know how interlock looks different when it rains? It can look like that if you seal it with the wet look sealer.

That is about it.

Except I feel obliged to tell you that some people think it is stupid and useless and will come off right away and that the sealer prevents the concrete from breathing and that nobody should ever do it again.

They are mostly blowing hot air.

I don’t have a recommendation either way. For me, the best thing about sealer is that it can make the interlock look different. So if that’s what you want, what you really, really want, then go for it!
Oh yeah, and the customer who’s walkway I just sealed absolutely LOVES it. LOOOOOOVES!!!
